Should TikTok Be Banned? A Civil Discourse Project Event

About the event

On January 19, a new law banned TikTok from operating in the U.S. unless it is divested by ByteDance, its China-based owner. The next day, President Trump signed an executive order pausing the ban –  despite a recent ruling by the US  Supreme Court that allowed it to go forward.

Do national security interests outweigh first amendment concerns raised by TikTok?  The debate shows no signs of stopping soon.
