Join The University of Texas Athenaeum and the Civitas Institute for a lively conversation with a leading authority on free speech and the founder of the legendary Volokh Conspiracy blog.
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, The University of Texas Athenaeum and the Civitas Institute will host a conversation with Eugene Volokh, Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution and Professor Emeritus at UCLA Law School. Volokh will principally discuss emerging issues involving the intersection of artificial intelligence and the law of free speech. Topics will include:
— Is speech produced by artificial intelligence protected by the First Amendment?
— If an artificial intelligence device defames you, should you be able to sue? Who and how?
— Is there a future in which artificial intelligence is used to judge cases?
And related topics, including whether artificial intelligence poses threats to society in the long run. The event will take place at Bass Lecture Hall on UT Austin’s campus.
We hope you’ll join us for what will certainly be a though-provoking discussion. See you there!
